DONKEY

TALES

SHAKE IT OFF

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried
piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be
covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey did not realize what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw.

With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

Remember the five simple rules to being happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred. 2. Free your mind from worries. 3. Live simply. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less.. Enjoy Your Week & SHAKE IT OFF!!!

A MAN

A BOY

& A DONKEY

If You Try to Please Everyone

An old man, a boy and a donkey were going to town.
The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked.
As they went along they passed some people
who remarked that it was a shame
the old man was walking while the boy was riding.
The man and the boy thought,
maybe the critics were right,
so they changed positions.
Later they passed some people who remarked,
"What a shame! He makes that little boy walk."
They decided they would both walk!
Soon they passed some more people
who thought they were stupid to walk
when they had a decent donkey to ride.
So they both rode the donkey!
Now they passed some people who shamed them by saying,
"How awful to put such a load on a poor donkey!"
The boy and man said they were probably right,
so they decided to carry the donkey.
As they crossed a bridge, they lost their grip
on the animal, and he fell into the river and drowned.
The moral of the story?
If you try to please everyone,
you will eventually lose your ass.
